Well on March 26th about 8:10am Dallas had a seizure (grand mal seizure), it lasted about 15 mins. When the paramedics got there he was still seizing but stopped by the time they put him in an ambulance. He was rushed to the hospital where they did a CT scan. While we waited for the results Dallas slept mostly he was very tired and the meds they gave him helped him sleep and took care of his headache. It took a couple of hours for Dallas to answer our questions and understand where he was and what was happening. It was pretty scary but the test came back normal.
So then they transferred him to University Hospital and we spent the night there. Dallas thought it was really cool, we could call and order any food he wanted, including all the cake, ice cream, cookies, and pudding he could ever want. But he loved getting blueberry pancakes at 11:00pm. He was very spoiled but deserved every bit of it.
The next day they had an EEG and a MRI scheduled. The EEG was first, Dallas didn't like it at all but was tough and brave and layed perfectly still watching his movie while the test was done. Oh yeah he got to watch a lot of movies too. Well when we got the results back from the EEG they came back normal so they canceled the MRI and we got to go hom
e!!!!
They Doctors explained his seizure that lasted 15 mins. was long but that as long as it isn't in the 30 mins to 1 hour range there was no worry about damage and Dallas was acting like him self that evening, he was just a little wobbly when he walked or ran, but that got better with time.
The Doctors explained that Dallas's existing conditions, (schizencephaly) was the cause of the seizure. As we have known from birth that he could develop them at some point, but the older he got the less likely of that happening. Well they don't know if he will have another one tomorrow or in 10 years or ho
pefully never again. So right now we just keep some meds with us just in case he does have another one, so we can stop it if it last too long. But other wise he is doing great and we are just so happy to have him at home and happy.

Hey ShaRee--Dallas looks so cute in his hospital bed. I think he might have had fun there =)I'm so glad to hear that the tests show that everything is normal for him and that there's a chance he won't have to deal with another seizure for a long time. Good job getting the baby countdown going and your ultrasound pictures are VERY cute =) I'm having contractions like crazy these days, and I'm even starting to dialate, so I'm scheduled to be induced on the 21st. I'll keep you posted. Love, Mandi
